Patience
In this message, Pastor Steve continues the study of the Fruit of the Spirit by examining the biblical meaning of patience. Far more than simply waiting through difficult circumstances, patience is the Spirit-produced ability to endure the weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings of others with grace. Looking at the character of God, we discover that patience is not merely something God does; it is something that flows from who He is. God’s mercy, grace, and compassion are continually displayed through His patient dealings with sinners.
Walking through passages in Psalms, 1 Timothy, Colossians, and Galatians, this message reveals that the patience believers extend to others is rooted in the patience God has first shown to them. As we remember how graciously Christ pursued, forgave, and restored us, the Holy Spirit begins producing that same patience within us. Because the same patience Christ demonstrated toward His people is the patience the Spirit is now forming in the lives of those who walk with Him.
