One Thing: Seeing Life from Inside the House

What becomes the controlling desire of your heart when trouble comes? Rather than asking for an easier life, David longed above all else to dwell in the presence of the Lord, discovering that God's presence became his shelter, his security, and the source of his joy even while the storm continued to rage. 

As we continue our Songs for the Soul series, we'll discover that God doesn't always remove the storms around us, but He transforms how we experience them by drawing us into His presence through Jesus Christ. As our hearts are reordered around knowing Him, fear gives way to confidence, worship rises in the midst of trouble, and we learn to see every circumstance from the safety of dwelling with our faithful God. Because courage is not the root of the Christian life, communion with God is.
