Every believer eventually discovers a reality in the Christian life: there is a battle taking place within the heart. The flesh pulls us toward sin and self-gratification, while the Spirit leads us toward holiness and obedience to God. This internal conflict is not a sign of spiritual failure; it is evidence that the Spirit of God is actively at work within us. 

In this message, Pastor Steve continues exploring Paul’s teaching on the struggle between the flesh and the Spirit. We examine why this conflict exists, how the flesh gains ground through temptation and lingering desires, and how believers can prepare their lives to walk by the Spirit. Scripture shows that victory in this daily battle is not accidental but intentional, requiring repentance, renewed thinking, and a commitment to put on the character of Christ. 

As we learn to lay aside the deeds of darkness, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and remove opportunities for the flesh, we begin to strengthen the Spirit’s influence in our lives and walk more faithfully in obedience to God.
