Confident in the Keeper of the Work
Galatians 5:10 — “I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view.”
Scripture Focus
Philippians 1:6
“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Sometimes the weight of the Christian life makes us wonder if we are growing, if we are strong enough, or if we will ever “get it right.” Paul shifts our eyes away from our performance and places them on the God who keeps us.
Sermon Reflection
Your sermon reminded us that confidence has a source, and the believer’s confidence is never rooted in self. It is rooted in Christ. Paul told the Galatiian church, “I have confidence in you in the Lord,” because he understood something we forget: God does not start what He will not finish. Paul reminds believers that we continue walking, resisting lies, rejecting false persuasion, and clinging to truth because the One who authorized the work in us is faithful.
Your faith may feel weak, but the One holding you is strong.
Your steps may be inconsistent, but His grip does not slip.
Your circumstances may be loud, but His keeping power is louder.
The sermon highlighted three truths:
1. The Confidence of the Believer
Your confidence is not in your discipline, feelings, or understanding but in God’s unwavering commitment to His work in you.
2. The Continuance of the Work
Sanctification is not instant. It’s construction. God shapes you through every season, pruning you, forming you, and making you look more like Christ.
3. The Consequence of the Disturbers
God knows how to deal with those who hinder His children. Your job is not to fight wolves, but to follow the Shepherd.
This is the heart of the gospel: God starts the work, God sustains the work, and God completes the work.
How I Should Respond
Believer, here is what this means for you today:
Rest in God’s keeping power. Stop carrying a pressure God never placed on you.
Refuse to let sabotage or spiritual distraction shake you. If God is for you, no lie, no pressure, no voice can undo what He started.
Stay close to the Shepherd. Keep hearing His voice, following His Word, and trusting His track record.
Examine what influences you. A little leaven changes the whole lump. What small voices or small sins have you allowed to stay?
Anchor your identity in God’s work, not your performance. You may struggle, but you are secure.
Today, remind yourself: “God will finish what He started in me.”
Weekly Prayer
Father,
Thank You for being the Keeper of the work in my life. When I am weak, You remain strong. When I am inconsistent, You are faithful. Help me trust Your process and rest in Your promise. Guard my heart from false persuasion, subtle lies, and anything that seeks to pull me away from the truth. Make me sensitive to Your voice, obedient to Your Word, and confident in Your keeping power. Complete the work You began in me, and let my life reflect Your faithfulness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
5-Day Application Plan
Day 1 — Remember His Track Record: Write down three moments in your life where God sustained you, protected you, or kept you. Reflect on how these testimonies prove His faithfulness.
Day 2 — Examine the Leaven Ask the Holy Spirit: “What small thing have I allowed that is affecting my walk?”
Confess it. Remove it. Replace it with truth.
Day 3 — Declare the Promise: Speak Philippians 1:6 out loud three times today.
Every time doubt rises, respond with Scripture.
Day 4 — Follow the Shepherd’s Voice: Spend 15 minutes in John 10:27–30. List what Jesus promises His sheep.
Pray for a more sensitive and obedient heart.
Day 5 — Walk in Confidence, Not Condemnation: Read Romans 8:1, 8:28–30.
Write a statement beginning: “Because God is keeping me, I will…” Live this out intentionally today.
Final Thought
You are not being carried by your own strength; you are being kept by God’s hands. When your confidence is in Christ, sabotage cannot stop you, sin cannot separate you, and Satan cannot snatch you. Trust the Keeper of the work He has never lost what belongs to Him.
