Walk-The Proof of Healing

Scripture Focus

“Jesus said to him, ‘Get up, pick up your pallet and walk.’ … Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, ‘Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.’”
— John 5:8, 14 (NASB 1995)

Sermon Reflection

When Jesus heals, He does more than lift us from the mat, He commands us to walk in a new way of life. Healing is not just about feeling better, it is about being made new. “Get up” revealed the ability Christ gives. “Pick up your pallet” displayed testimony and purpose. And now, “Walk” proves your healing through steps of obedience, Spirit-empowered living, and purposeful direction.

Your walk is your witness. People may debate your words, but they cannot deny your steps. Every step of obedience, even if limping, tells the story that you have been made new.

How I Should Respond

This week, examine your steps. Where am I walking in obedience, and where am I drifting back to old habits? Am I walking in the Spirit, or executing the cravings of my flesh? Am I walking with purpose, redeeming the time God has given me?

The challenge is not to just sit in the pews but to walk in the power of Christ. Begin each day asking the Holy Spirit, “Lead my steps today.” End each day reviewing, “Whose orders did I carry out, flesh or Spirit?”

Weekly Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that You did not just lift me up, You gave me a new walk. Help me to walk in obedience, to be led by Your Spirit, and to live with purpose. Keep me from drifting back to the mat of sin. Order my steps this week, let my testimony be seen, and use my walk to draw others closer to You. Amen.

Application for the Week

Day 1 – Walk in Obedience (John 5:14)
Reflect on areas of life where sin still tries to pull you back. Repent and commit those steps to the Lord.

Day 2 – Walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16)
Pray each morning: “Holy Spirit, lead my steps today.” Identify one place where you need His power.

Day 3 – Walk with Purpose (Ephesians 5:15–17)
Write down your weekly schedule. Ask yourself, does my calendar reflect God’s will and priorities?

Day 4 – Walk as a Witness (1 Peter 2:12)
Look for one opportunity to live your testimony in front of someone who knows your past.

Day 5 – Walk in Gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
At the end of the day, name three things you thank God for in your walk of healing.

Final Thought

Jesus did not heal you just to help you feel better; He healed you to make you new. The mat once carried you, but now you carry it as a testimony. Your walk is the proof. Take the steps this week that show the world you have been healed by Him.
