Weekly Devotional: What Shall I Do, Lord? Part II

Scripture Focus:

“But get up and enter the city, and it will be told to you what you must do.” (Acts 9:6 NASB 1995)

Sermon Reflections:

In Acts 9:6-8, we see that Saul’s transformation wasn’t just about acknowledging Jesus as Lord—it was about following His command. Saul had to obey in front of an audience, humbling himself as he was led by others into Damascus.

This moment reminds us of Abraham’s faith in Hebrews 11:8, where he obeyed God’s call, “not knowing where he was going.” God doesn’t always give us the full plan—He asks us to trust Him one step at a time.

Obedience often comes with uncertainty, but it also comes with purpose. Saul’s obedience led to his calling. What could your next step of obedience be leading you toward?
How Should I Respond?
•Examine your faith—Are you waiting for full clarity before obeying God?
•Identify your next step—What is something God has been prompting you to do that you’ve been hesitating on?
•Trust God in uncertainty—Are you willing to follow His voice, even when others don’t understand?

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB 1995)

Prayer:

Lord, I recognize that obedience requires trust. Help me to follow You, even when I don’t have all the answers. Give me the courage to take the next step in faith, knowing that You guide my path. Like Saul, may I respond with full surrender and obedience to Your voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Application for the Week:

1. Listen for God’s direction—Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal your next step.
2. Step out in faith—Take an action that demonstrates trust in what God is calling you to do.
3. Encourage someone else—Share with a friend or family member about a time when obedience to God led to His faithfulness in your life.

Final Challenge:

This week, don’t wait for all the details—trust God enough to take the next step. Obedience leads to transformation. What will your next step be?
