40 Day Daniel Fast Day 26

Unless He calls…..

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
Devotional
Do you recall the first sermon you heard that drew you to the Lord? Ok, maybe some of us weren’t in church when we heard it; we may have heard someone talk with us over the phone, in the park, at a small bible study. Either way it goes, we heard it, and it changed our life. Here is a question, now that you are saved, was it the words of that preacher, friend, a stranger that brought you to the Lord?
Was it your words that you repeated? Jesus lets us know it was none of them; notice what He says, “no one can come” this phrase means just what it says, nobody! Nobody comes to Jesus if the Father has not drawn them. But get this, He isn’t just the one who is drawing, but He is also the one teaching.  So we hear from the Father, and the Father teaches us. So If all of the work done is being done by the Father, how much is being done by us? NONE!

Notice that God, not the person, plays the most active role in salvation. When someone chooses to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, they do so only in response to the urging of God’s Holy Spirit. Notice we are not the agent, so when speaking with loved ones and friends who don’t know Jesus as Lord and savior, guess who’s doing the work? The Father. When we share our testimony with our loved ones and friends, and they decide to follow Jesus, guess who’s doing the work? The Father. No one, nobody, can believe in Jesus without God’s help. So, why fear sharing your faith? It’s not your words that will win them over; it’s the Father who draws!
Challenge
The person you have been praying for, are you ready to share your testimony with them? Share your faith with them? Remember, it is not you who’s doing the work, it’s the Lord!

Pray
Father, I thank You for Your Word, it is that same Word that saves, it is that same Word that Heals, it is that same Word that restores. I pray that You would draw my______to You. I pray that their ears would be open to hear You.
In Jesus' name, amen.
